Catherine C. Becker, 82, of Eau Claire passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at the Dove Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Eau Claire.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday Dec. 22, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Father Eugene Klink will officiate. Burial will immediately follow services at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire on Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday to conclude the visitation. Visitation will continue Monday at the church from 12 p.m. until the time of services.

Catherine was born Nov. 20, 1926, in Durand to Charles and Pauline (Berger) Brantner. She married James Becker on April 15, 1947. They owned a farm in rural Mondovi for 47 years before retiring in Eau Claire.

Catherine was an avid quilter, and she loved gardening. She was known for her beautiful flower beds.

She is survived by her children Joyce (Ron) Kurth of Eau Claire, Leonard (Ann) Becker of Carrollton, Texas, David Becker of Marshfield, Jan (Ray) Behling of Marshfield and Donna (Brian) Whelihan of Cedarburg; grandchildren Amy, Michael and Brian Becker, Laura Kurth, Tyler and Jenna Behling, Aric Whelihan and Jeri Weber; great-granddaughter Kaytlynn Carson; two brothers, Eddie and Bill Brantner; and sister Dorothy Schlenk. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Lambert, Chuck, Joe and Arnold Brantner and sisters Irene Becker, Agnes Kiral and Laura Cain.

Memorials may be given in Catherine's name to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, Wis., 54701.
