Amanda Lindau (7 May 1893 – 19 Jun 1972)
Mrs. Albert Lindau, 79, a former Dorchester resident, died Monday at the
Marshfield Convalescent Center where she had resided for the past two years.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm today, Thursday, at St. Peter’s Lutheran
church, Dorchester. Rev. F.H. Sprengler will officiate and burial will take
place in Dorchester Memorial cemetery.
The body will lay in state at Maurina funeral home, Dorchester.
Grandsons Barry, David, Dean, Rick and Brian Lindau and John Goldamer will serve
as pallbearers.
The former Amanda Laack was born May 7, 1893, in the town of Mayville, Clark
county, and received her education in Dorchester schools. Her marriage to Albert
Lindau took place December 16, 1914, at Dorchester.
After their marriage the couple farmed in the town of Mayville until 1968 when
they moved to Dorchester. Mrs. Lindau was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran
church and the Ladies’ Aid.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Lucille, Mrs. Emil
Daellenbach and Arletta, Mrs. Robert Goldamer, both of Abbotsford; four sons,
Eugene, Waterford; Norman, Medford; Melvin, Neillsville; and Elvin, Rice Lake;
19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Other survivors include five
sisters: Mrs. Alma Stock, Abbotsford; Rose, Mrs. Max Hoffman, Dorchester; Mrs.
Edna Tennis, Leona, Mrs. Harry Mandel and Elva, Mrs. Clarence Hebert, all of
Unity, and a brother, Arnold Laack, Abbotsford.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and a sister.
