Jozwiak, Loretta Ann (1948)

Schwantes-Jozwiak

United in marriage September 4, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratford were Miss Loretta Ann Jozwiak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Jozwiak, route 2, Stratford and Gordon E. Schwantes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Schwantes, route 1, Spencer. The Rev. Anthony Fischer officiated at the Nuptial Mass.

For her wedding, the bride chose a gown of slipper satin, with lace edged peplum and long rain, and a knee length veil of illusion, caught in a crown of orange blossoms, red roses, white gladioli, and white roses were contained in her cascade bouquet.

Attendants included Miss Dorothy Admanski, Startford, cousin of the bride, as maid of honor; Miss Elvera Schwantes, Spencer, sister of the groom, and Miss Gertrude Para, Chicago, cousin of the bride as bridesmaids. Edward Jozwiak, Statford, brother of the bride, as best man; Cyril Schmoll, Marshfield and Geo. Bauer, Stratford, groomsmen; Marcella Jozwiak, sister of the bride, and Gerald Gripentrog, Spencer, nephew of the groom as flower girl and ring bearer respectively.

Miss Admanski was attired in blue, Miss Schwantes, in yellow and Miss Para in pink. Their taffeta gowns were similarly styled with drop shoulder effect, and each wore a matching blusher veil and carried a colonial bouquet of carnations and asters. Little Miss Jozwiak wore a formal frock of white net and satin and a sweetheart bonnet of net. She carried a basket of peach-colored gladioli and asters.

Breakfast, dinner and supper were served at the Jozwiak home with guests present from Chicago, Milwaukee, Butternut, Spencer, Stratford, Thorp, Withee and Marshfield.

Mr. Schwantes is employed at the Trindal Elivator [sic] here in Spencer and his bride was employed at Stevens Point by the Hardware Mutuals.

The young couple enjoyed a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
