Olejniczak, Lela M. (Latz) (20 JUN 1935 - 5 FEB 2013)

Lela M. Olejniczak, 77, Shawano, died on Tuesday, Feb. 5 in Appleton.

No public funeral services will be held. Remembrance masses will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Sheldon and First Congregational Church in Genesee.

Lela M Olejniczak, age 77 of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in Appleton.

Born on June 7, 1935 in Ladysmith, she was one of nine children born to the late Charles and Eva (Hink) Latz.

On September 8, 1951 she was united in marriage to Walter Olejniczak, Jr. at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. Lela owned and operated the “Stop & Shop” in Wales, WI and was a loving mother to her six children. In her free time she enjoyed playing guitar and the accordion, singing and dancing.

Lela is survived by her six children, Bernie (Teresa) Olejniczak, Debbie (Robert) Doxtator, Doreen (Carl) Del Carpio, Wanda Olejnizak, Jillene Bloom, Wayne (Cece) Karmikel; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Shirley Mayo, Irene Konsella and Marilyn Story.

Lela was preceded in death by her husband Water on July 16, 1978; her parents; 5 siblings, Albert Latz, Jean Roever, Charles Latz, Lucille Herrick and Earl Duane Latz.

In honor of Lela’s wished, no public funeral services will be held. Special remembrance massed will be held at St. John’s Catholic, Church in Sheldon, St. Michael Catholic Church in Jump River and First Congregational Church in Genesee. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family asks that donations be sent to one of the churches.

Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
