Dziesinski, Marlene Ann (Marriage - 21 September 1968)

Married Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alpena, Mich., in a 1:30 p.m. nuptial mass, were Miss Marlene Dziesinski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dziesinski of Rt. 1 Alpena, Mich., and Harold Vanderwyst, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Vanderwyst of Granton.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose an imported silk organza floor-length gown, styled with an Empire bodice topped with a Bateau neckline. Organza lace appliqués formed her elbow-length sleeves. Her A-line skirt was complimented by a detachable train that swept to chapel length. A matching forehead headpiece, with pearls, secured her English illusion veil. She carried a cascade arrangement of white pompons and green cymbidium orchids.

Aides were Miss Marcella Pilarski of Alpena, as maid-of-honor; Lorraine Wasilk of Hawks, Mich., and Darleen Vanderwyst of Granton, as bridesmaids. They wore floor-length turquoise sacki linen dresses, styled with brief sleeves and Bateau necklines. Their controlled floor-length skirts were accented with Watteau sacki. Each wore a fresh floral bandex headpiece and each carried a Victorian colonial bouquet of peacock blue and olive green pompons, accented with olive green wheat and olive green streamers that extended to their hemlines.

The groom’s attendants were Eugene Walters of Granton, as bestman; Ralph Vanderwyst of McConnell AFB, Kans., and Frank Dziesinski, Groomsmen. Ushers were Chester Dziesinski and Louis Boyk.

Master Donald Kelly and Patti Ann Hoppe, Both cousins of the bride, were ringbearer and flowergirl. The flowergirl was dressed in a deep turquoise floor-length dress, styled identically to those of the other bridal aides. She carried a miniature of their bouquets.

Mr. and Mrs. Vanderwyst visited his parents in Granton and on Wednesday left on a wedding trip through the western states.

The new Mrs. Vanderwyst will return to Alpena, Mich., to reside with her parents, where she is employed in the Alpena office of the Michigan Vocational Rehabilitation Division. Mr. Vanderwyst will leave October 19 to return to Libya, Africa, where he is stationed with the Air Force. He expects to be discharged in March.
