Emelia Patitz (12 Aug 1873 - 28 Apr 1964)

Funeral services for Mrs. Emelia Patitz, 90, were held from Peace Evangelical Church of Christ, here (Dorchester, WI) Friday, May 1. The Rev. Robert Goessling, pastor of First Congregation church in Owen, officiated at the 1:30 PM rites. Mrs. Jerome Rankl was organist and played accompaniment for Mrs. Orlean Pope and Mrs. Frank Rauscher who sang “Beyond the Sunset” and Heaven is my Home.”

Burial was in Colby cemetery under direction of Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home of Owen. Pallbearers were grandsons: Corliss Jensen of Medford, Verlin Jensen of Janesville, Wayne Patitz, James Patitz and James Eder of Glidden, and William Patitz of Chicago.

Mrs. Patitz died Tuesday, April 28, about 8 AM in the Havenet Nursing Home, Owen, where she had resided the past several years. She had been in ill health for some time.

Emelia Zimmerman was born Aug. 12, 1873, at Watertown, Wis., and moved to Hamburg with her parents while a child. She and Paul Voight were married in 1891, and he died in 1892. They were parents of a son. She and John Patitz were married in 1894, and he died in 1912. She was a resident of this village many years, residing also in Glidden and Owen before entering Havenet.
She is survived by two sons, Ted of Glidden and Herman of Brainerd, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Lee Jensen of Owen, Mrs. Louis Sheridan of Appleton, Mrs. Reginald Marshall of Chicago; two step-daughters, Mrs. Harvey Culbertson of Appleton and Mrs. Fred Pudlas of Curtiss; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren (remainder cut off).
