Annette Froland (21 Jan 1869 – 27 Sep 1954)

DORCHESTER – A 85-year-old resident of Dorchester, Mrs. Henry O Froland, died at 2:05 o’clock this morning at St Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient since Aug. 15. Death was due to a stroke, which she suffered six weeks ago.

Funeral services are tentatively set for 2 PM Wednesday at Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church (Little White Church) with the Rev Harold Welch officiating. Burial will take place in the Dorchester Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Froland, formerly Annette Kayhart, was born Jan. 21, 1869, in Chilton. At the age of three, she came with her parents to a farm southeast of Dorchester.

On March 14, 1891, she married here to Henry O. Froland. The couple moved to a farm 3 ¼ miles west of the village which they operated until 1917, when they moved to town. Since the death of Mr. Froland on Nov. 2, 1951, Mrs. Froland had made her home with her children.

Mrs. Froland is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Gertrude) Malchow, Dorchester, and Mrs. Arnold (Blanche) Brecklin, Appleton; a son, Wesley Froland, Mundelein, Ill; a sister, Mrs. Alice Harper, Greenwood; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Alice, died in 1918. Two sisters and brother also preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Fuchsgruber Funeral Home, where the body will lie in state until an hour before services, when it will be taken to the church.
