Crisler, Carol A. (29 MAY 1965)

Carol Anne Crisler, Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Crisler, Newport, Ore., became the bride of Roger Frederick Podhola, Milwaukee, Wis., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Podhola, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., on Saturday, May 29, 1965.

Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Stanley, Wis., was the setting for the 3 p.m. ceremony, with Rev. Carl Peters officiating. The double ring ceremony found the church decorated with whtie pew bows and white and green mum bouquets. Organ music accompanied the solos by Peter Anderson sing "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Wedding Song," and highlighted the service.

Frank Durkee, Uncle of the bride, gave his nice in marriage, as she wore a floor length gown of peau de soie trimmed with Alencon lace, sweeping into a ful back and chapel train. Her headpiece was a cabbage rose set on a pearl crown and she carried white orchids and lilies of the valley on her Bible.

Karla Podhola, sister of the groom, of Eau Claire, Wis., served as maid of honor, while Sally Sivulka and Gail Staab, friends of the bride, and of Milwaukee, attended. They all carried green orchids and lilies of the valley and wore floor length green and wheat, raised waist crepe gowns. Headpieces of lilies of the valley and green netting completed the outfit.

Louiis Wagner, Milwaukee, friend of the groom, acted as best man, with Jon Pitt and Ronald Benzschawel, both of Milwaukee, assisting. All were attired in white dinner jackets and black trousers. Dale Crisler, River Falls, Wis., ushered the bride's family and friends, and Rex Schmidt of Minneapolis, ushered for the groom's family and friends.

The mother of the bride attended in a beig lace three piece ensemble with matching accessories. The groom's mother wore a beige two piece suit with green accessories. Both were wearing green Cymbidium orchid corsages.

A 4:30 p.m. dinner was served at the Thorp Legion Hall with a recpetion dance following. Jean Miller, Chetek, Wis., circulated the guest book and music was provided by Joseph Sivulka.

The bride, a 1961 graduate of Newport High School, Newport, Oregon, is employed at MGIC in Milwaukee, and the groom, a Thorp High School graduate, Thorp, Wis., and a recent graduate of Manpower Business Training Center, Milwaukee, is employed with Herbet Manufacturing Co. as an IBM computer programmer.
