Anna Baehr (1 May 1878 - 17 May 1953)

The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at funeral services for Mrs. Anna Baehr, 75, in St. Peter’s Lutheran church here today at 2 p.m., following a brief service in Abbotsford funeral home at 1:30. Mrs. Baehr suffered a fatal heart attack about 3:15 p.m. Sunday in Waukegan, Ill., where she was visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Rudolph Ewig.

Burial was in Dorchester Memorial cemetery, and pallbearers were Arthur H. Baehr, Earl Baehr, Vernon Baehr, Otto Parge, Arthur Parge, and Harold Phalsgraph, nephews of the deceased.

Mrs. Baehr, was born Anna Parge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Parge, May 1, 1878, at Cedarburg, Wisconsin. She came to this community at an early age with her parents, who settled 2 miles south and a mile and a half west of the village. On Dec. 20, 1896, she was married to Arthur G. Baehr in St. Peter’s Lutheran church here.

They settled on a farm a mile south and a half mile east of the village, and that was her home for 48 years until Mr. Baehr’s death in 1946. She continued to reside on the farm with her son Walter, who operated it after his father’s death, until he and his family moved to Milwaukee in recent years. Since then she had resided at the home of a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilhelmi, Abbotsford. She had been visiting other daughters in Milwaukee and Waukegan since Easter.

Mrs. Baehr was secretary of St. Peter’s Ladies Aid for 35 years, and also was active in activities of the church’s sewing circle.

Surviving are two sons, Herbert of Abbotsford, and Walter, Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Elna) Wilhelmi, Abbotsford; Mrs. Rudolph (Cora) Ewig, Waukegan, Ill., and Mrs. William (Norma) Hoegel, Milwaukee and 11 grandchildren. Two sons, Arnold and Alfred, and a daughter preceded her in death.

Also surviving are five brothers and two sisters: Otto Parge, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.; Charles Parge, in Alberta, Canada; August Parge, Santa Ana, Calif.; Martin Parge, Los Angeles, Calif.; Henry Parge, Abbotsford; Mrs. Albert (Emma) Ewert, Fond du Lac, and Mrs. George (Alma) Baehr, Withee.
