Schneider, Oberle, Leo (05 FEB 1914 – 02 MAR 1978)


Leo Oberle, 64, died Thursday, March 2, in Gilman.

He was born in the town of Worden, Clark County, and grew up in Thorp. He married Imogene Baker June 14, 1938, in Stanley. The couple lived in the Thorp area until 1944, when they moved to the Gilman area. They farmed there until 1972, when they moved to Gilman.

Survivors include his wife, five sons, Richard, Earl, Dennis, Randy, all of Gilman; Bernard, Cadott; eight daughters, Mrs. Gary Liazuk, Mrs. Phillip Prasnicki, Donna, Anita, all of Gilman; Mrs. Allen Tietyen, Mrs. Ronald Olson, both of Milwaukee; Mrs. Melvin Brenner, Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Robert Rains, Cedar Falls, Iowa; four brothers, Martin, August,of Thorp; Frederick of Owen; Peter, Port Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hendricks, Sheboygan; Mrs. Peter Larson, Greenwood and 19 grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, March 6 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, with burial in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
