Neillsville Locals (15 August 1968)

Lillian Belter and Edna Dahl of Merrill called last week Wednesday at the Earl Zille home. Both ladies teach at the Lac du Flambeau Indian School.

Mr. and Mrs. Truman Lykken and four children of Grand Forks, N.D., and Mrs. Albert Lothspeich of Langdon, N. D., called one afternoon last week at the Francis Urlaub home in the Town of Weston. The group was enroute to Grand Forks from a vacation spent in Chicago, Ill.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maegdefessel returned home Sunday from an extended tour of northern Wisconsin and Michigan. Among points of interest visited were the Mackinac Islands, and a Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., boat trip, ride in a miniature train over the International Bridge into Canada. They returned home by way of Laona, where they enjoyed a trip over the “Lumberjack Trail.”

Mrs. Myrtle Elmendorf and her granddaughter, Carrie Sexton, have returned to Neillsville from a two-month visit in Seattle, Wash., with Mrs. Elmendorf’s daughter, Mrs. Jerry Maida, and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Romfoe of Proctor, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. George Fleury of St. Paul, Minn., visited Sunday with Mrs. Myrtle Elmendorf.

Mrs. Mary Venne and Mrs. Burga Gregoire of Milwaukee arrived last week for a short visit with their sister, Mrs. Bruno Woodzick. The three ladies then left for a visit in several western states. Mr. Venne stayed in Minnesota with a son, and together they attended the wedding of Venne and Mrs. Woodzick visited another son in North Dakota. Mrs. Venne and Mrs. Woodzick visited the Black Hills and other points of interest along the way. The group returned to Neillsville Friday.

Mrs. Richard Cowett of Parma Heights, O., is visiting her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Manz. Mary Manz of Chicago and Peter Manz of River Falls were weekend guests.
