Seefeld, Arlene (1947)

Marten-Seefeld

Miss Arlene E. Seefeld, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Seefeld, Spencer, and Eugene J. Marten, Riplinger, son of Mrs. Arhtur [sic] Steele, Abbotsford, repeated their mariiage [sic] vows before Rev. A. C. Stapel at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Spencer, at 3:30 p. m. Saturday, August 30.

The maid of honor, Miss Margie Hoftiezer, Spencer, wore a rose-colored dress and a pink bonnet. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. The bridesmaids, Miss Lois Freeman and Miss Shirley Way, Spencer, wore white and aqua dresses respectively and matching bonnets. They carried bouquets of roses. The brides neice [sic] Phyllis Seefeld, Spencer, was flower girl. She wore a pink taffta [sic] dress and carried a basket of assorted flowers.

The groom was attended by Virgil Seefeld, Spencer, as best man; Kenneth Mellenthin, Spencer, cousin of the bride and Dewaine Marten, Riplinger, brother of the groom, as groomsmen; Glen Seefeld, Spencer, nephew of the bride, as ring-bearer. Donald Neumann and James Beisner, the latter a cousin of the bride, ushered.

The bride was gowned in white satin fashioned with lace insets and a long train. Her full-length veil was caught to a seed-pearl headdress. She carried a bouquet of red roses.

Supper was served to 125 guests in the church dinning [sic] hall. A reception was held at the home of the brides uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Seefeld, Spencer.

After a wedding trip to Kenosha, Northern Wisconsin, and Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Marten will make their home at Riplinger, where the groom is employed at the Riplinger Diary.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
