Quast, Genevieve A. (3 January 1903 - 18 June 1968)

Mrs. Genevieve A. Quast, 65, a resident of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, and formerly of Willard, died last week Tuesday. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Msg. A. N. Schuh officiating. Burial was made in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.

Pallbearers were John Godec, a nephew, and her brothers, Joseph, William, Edward, Albert and Frank Bayuk.

Mrs. Quast, the former Genevieve Bayuk, was born January 3, 1903, in Pueblo, Colo., and when a child moved with her parents to Willard. Her marriage to Hugo Quast, who died March 1, 1960, took place September 1, 1924, in Willard. Mr. Quast was at one time postmaster and also operated a general store in the Willard area. Mrs. Quast later lived in Granton before coming to Marshfield in 1953.

Survivors are: a daughter, Sister Mary Callista, administrator at Mercy Hospital, Oshkosh; five brothers, Joseph, William and Edward Bayuk of Willard, Albert Bayuk of Joliet, Ill., and Frank Bayuk of Greenwood; and five sisters, Mrs. Anton (Dora) Fortuna, Chicago, Mrs. Ignatz (Mayme) Cesnik, Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude) Godec, Marshfield, Mrs. Rudy (Verna) Hollman, New Berlin, and Mrs. Alvin (Florence) Klinke, Greenwood.
