Decorah, Cora (2 November 1944 – 9 February 2010)

 

Cora “Peach” Decorah, 65, of New Lisbon died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

 

Peach was born Nov. 2, 1944, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Nathaniel and Matilda (Lewis) Decorah.

 

She enjoyed bingo and sewing costumes, dresses and shawls, and she was also a very talented artist.

 

Peach is survived by a son, Ashley; daughter, Marni; brothers, Louis (Gloria) Decorah, Francis (Roberta) Decorah, Parmenton Decorah and Joseph (Lona) Decorah, Janet Funmaker, Loretta Patterson and Susie Decorah; and her seven grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Grant; brothers, Pierre and Phillip; and infant sister, Victoria.

 

Funeral services were held  Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Blue Wing Community Center in Blue Wing with Mann John Falcon officiating.  Burial was in the Decorah Heights Cemetery in Lemonweir Township of Juneau County.  Visitation was held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday at the Blue Wing Community Center from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Friday.

 

The Conway-Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lyndon Station assisted the family with arrangements.
