Durham, Pearline Marie (25 August 1941 – 13 January 2010)

 

Pearline M. Welsh-Durham, 68, of Black River Falls died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, in Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.

 

Pearline Marie Rhoades was born Aug. 25, 1941, in Black River Falls to Amasa Jr. and Alice (Hurlburt) Rhoades. She was raised in the Black River Falls area.  She married Raymond Welsh Jan. 14, 1966, in Black River Falls, and he died Nov. 21, 1986.  She later married George Durham Dec. 1, 1992, and he died Sept. 28, 2004.

 

Pearline had been employed at a Subway Store in Waukesha and as a nursing assistant at Pine View Care Center of Black River Falls.

 

In addition to having lived in Black River Falls, she had also lived in Arcadia, Waukesha, Pewaukee, Boscobel, Lyndon Station and Taylor.

 

Pearline was a former member of the Salvation Army of Waukesha. She enjoyed picture puzzles, watching television, cross stitching, knitting, crocheting, collecting angels and having coffee with her friends.

 

Survivors include four daughters, Marie (Tony) Johnson of Whitehall, Lee Ann Mortenson of Taylor, Rose (Gordon) Iverson of Black River Falls and Linda (David) Schumacher of Hixton; 11 grandchildren, Joseph Swartling, Danielle Bettesworth, Nicolas Bettesworth, Dustin Mortenson, Nathan Mortenson, Travis Johnson, Samantha Iverson and Daniel Iverson; five great-grandchildren, Jamie Meister, Alex Florentino, Lilianna Higgins, Jozalin Johnson and Jadon Severson; and a brother, Gaylord (Nancy) Rhoades of Taylor.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amasa and Alice, both husbands and a step-great-grandson, Adam Coleman.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at the Buswell Funeral Home, and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, both in Black River Falls.  Pastor Calvin Thoreson officiated.

 

Family and friends were invited for visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials to the family are preferred.
