Bromley, Byron Bailey (7 September 1920 – 21 November 2009) 

Byron B. Bromley, 89, of Merrillan died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1009, at Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls. 

Byron Bailey Bromley was born Sept. 7, 1920, at Reedsburg to Stephen and Meta (Brammert) Bromley.  He was raised in Reedsburg. 

He married Ruth B. Fisher Feb. 12, 1942, in Minneapolis.  Byron lived in Minneapolis for several years. He and his wife, Ruth, later settled in Anoka, MN, where they raised their family and lived for 18 years.  From 1974 to 1999, Byron and Ruth lived in Tenstrike, MN.  In April of 1999, they moved to Merrillan.  

Byron was employed at various jobs in Minneapolis, including watch making and plumbing.  He was a master plumber and during the 18 years that he and Ruth lived in Anoka, he owned and operated Anoka Plumbing and Heating.  He retired in 1974. 

He was a proud member of the Gideon’s International.  Following retirement, Byron and Ruth traveled to Florida, Texas and California for nine years.  He enjoyed foreign travel to Israel and Egypt.  He also enjoyed fixing anything mechanical and sharing this knowledge with his grandchildren.  Byron loved flying, fishing, gardening and living peacefully in the woods. 

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Carole A. (Lee) Frederick of Black River Falls; a son, Richard B. (Ruthie) Bromley of Katy, TX; four grandchildren, Bradley (Elesa) Frederick of San Diego, CA, Kristi Petersen of Spring Valley, Rebecca (Doug) Gorham of Carl Junction, MO, and Kathryn (Carl) Martin of Sealy, TX; four great-grandchildren, Justine Petersen, Katelyn Petersen, Ashley Chapman and Robert Gorham; a sister, Pearl Bowen of Evansville; and numerous other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rose Witzel. 

Funeral services for Byron B. Bromley will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at the Buswell Funeral Home, and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery both in Black River Falls.  Mr. Kit Droste will officiate. 

Family and friends are invited for visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at the Buswell Funeral Home.
