Littlegeorge, Evans Sr. (10 February 1948 – 27 September 2009) With Flag

 

Evans Littlegeorge, Sr., 61, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at the St. Claire Hospital in Baraboo.

 

He was born Feb. 10, 1948, in Black River Falls.  He graduated from Alma Center High School, where he participated in football, basketball and track.  Immediately after high school, he joined the Army.  Following the Army, he worked at Presto.  He married Becky Peterson and they were later divorced.

 

He worked for Kraemer Construction, Mathy Construction, Jackson County Iron Mine, DNR, WWBC and HC Veteran Affairs Office.  He also was involved in the Wisconsin Dells School District working with Lance Tallmadge, a book study on the Native American culture.

 

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing fast-pitch softball in his younger years and he loved dancing (salsa, ballroom and line-dancing).  His favorite singer was James Brown, and he enjoyed watching the Packers.

 

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at The First Church of the Nazarene in Baraboo, 1800 Crawford Street, at the corner of Crawford and Madison.  Following the services, there will be a visitation at the Ho-Chunk United Church of Christ, Indian Mission, rural Black River Falls, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be: Donnie Matalas, Eric Hansen, Gene Ransom, Ray Ransom and Wilbert Breheim.

 

Surviving are his wife, Judith (DeVries) Littlegeorge; daughter, Amy (Aaron) Kirby; son, Evans Anthony Littlegeorge, Jr.; grandchildren, Cody St. Michael, Dominique Franco, Olivia R. Kirby and Garon Kirby; step-grandson, Zachary Sulley; siblings: Cecelia Littlegeorge (David) Kraus, Reta Littlegeorge (Chris Meadows), Lawrence Littlegeorge Jr., Rocklyn Littlegeorge, Allice (Woody) Woods and Chrystal Herriage; nieces and nephews, Cari Fay (Jules Spera), Charlene Fay, Leslie (Wendy) Fay, Richard Sechser, Craig (Deb) Sechser, Sharice (Noe) Davids, Matthew Herriage, Joshua Herriage and Megan (Jeremy) Brueklander; and grand-nieces and nephews, Erika L. Fay, Jesse L. Bell, Blaze Greengrass, Fiona Fay, Lexi Fay, Glen Sechser, Dominic Goviera, Anthony Goviera, Allexis Brueklander, Angelina Brueklander and Ashton Brueklander.

 

Evans was preceded in death by his grandparents – (maternal) Jessie and Bessie (Lowe) Stacy and (paternal) Jesse and Mary (Whitewater) Littlegeorge; parents, Lawrence Littlegeorge, Sr. and Ruth G. Stacy; and siblings, Maryann Littlegeorge and Rhonda Littlegeorge Sechser.

 

A meal will be served at the District 1 Community Center at approximately 6 p.m. on the day of the burial.
