Iverson, Edwin “Ed” (1 April 1909 – 30 June 2009)


Edwin “Ed” Iverson, 100, of Taylor died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at the Grand View Care Center, Blair.


Ed was born April 1, 1909, in Springfield Township, Jackson County, to parents Albert and Julia (Severson) Iverson and attended Jackson School.  He farmed in Springfield Township for many years.  He also worked in the woods most of his life cutting pulp and ties, and, years also he managed a saw mill in Taylor.


He married Christine (Hegg) Smith June 15, 1959, in Black River Falls.  She preceded him in death in 1995.


Ed grew up in a musical family, and he learned to play the violin and trumpet.  He enjoyed playing in a band along with other family members.


He is survived by his cousin, Harold (Margie Anderson) Iverson of Black River Falls; besides nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


In addition to his wife, Christine, he was preceded in death by two stepsons, Harry and Terry; two brothers, Emmett and George Iverson; and his sister, Myrtle Bamberg.


Funeral services for Edwin “Ed” Iverson were held at 1 p.m. Monday July 6, 2009, at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, with Reverend Benjamin Ahles-Iverson officiating.  Burial took place in Woodlawn Cemetery, rural Taylor.  Friends called Monday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
