Peterson, Signe Edith (22 July 1946 – 11 November 2008)
Signe Edith Peterson passed away peacefully at HospiceCare in Madison Nov. 11, 2008, after a four-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born July 22, 1946, to Sigferd E. and Lillian E. (Holmgreen) Peterson in Black River Falls. She lived in Black River Falls until she graduated high school in 1964. While there, she excelled in clarinet, which she used to play with her father as a young child. Signe earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
She married Steven L. Rudolph, son of Ernest and Jeannette Rudolph of Black River Falls, Nov. 22, 1967.
Signe worked in Madison for CUNA, the sheriff’s department and, most recently, the Broden Art Gallery.
She enjoyed history and at the time of her death was working on a screen play for a movie about John Wilkes Booth. Signe enjoyed reading, art, going for walks and watching “What Not to Wear.” Her favorite movies were “Gone with the Wind” and “The Great Gatsby.” She also loved music, especially that of Gershwin.
Signe is survived by her two children, Andria (Rod) Lenoble of Westminster, CO, and Stephen Alex (Jamie) Rudolph of Delavan; five grandchildren, Madison and Rebekah of Westminster, CO, and Stephen, Robert and Amber of Delavan; many cousins and her best friend, Gregory P. Johnson of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a cousin, Maxine.
Funeral services will be held in the spring.
Torgerson’s Funeral Service (715-284-4321), Black River Falls, will be assisting the family with arrangements.
