Bush, Orson H. & Alma (65th Anniv. 1948)

Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Bush, of Alma Center, had been married 65 years last Sunday, May 16, 1948, and the event was celebrated at their home which had been beautifully decorated for the occasion with tulips from their own garden.

Orson H. Bush and Alma Harvey were married in Iowa 65 years ago and they moved from Iowa to Wisconsin about 30 years ago. They have lived in or near Alma Center ever since. Mr. Bush is 84 and Mrs. Bush is 83, and they are both in good health and do all their own work. They have their garden in and are planning their activities for the coming year.

There was a family reunion of about 80 at their home to celebrate their anniversary, all of the seven living of the 13 children being present with their families. Their children are: Elmer, of Black River Falls; Glen, Floyd and Wayne of Neillsville; Mrs. Hardy Becker, of Alma Center, Mrs. Albert Hovey, of Wilson, and Mrs. Merle Janke, Neillsville. There were 29 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren present.

Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Perry and family, of Postville, Iowa; Mrs. Marshall E. Perry; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Perry and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Limtemann and family, Miss Alma Perry, of Castalia, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. John Moore, Wykoff, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Moore and family, Pine Island, Minn.; Mrs. Albert Hovey, of Wilson; Mrs. Howard Bartley and Karen, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Bartley, Bill Bartley, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bush and family, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bush and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bush and family, Mr. and Mrs. August Janke, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bush and Mr. and Mrs. Don Frei and family Black River Falls, Kenneth Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Becker, Alma Center; and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Becker and family and Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Becker and family of Taylor.

There is a photo and message saying the Orson Bush couple celebrated their 66th anniversary in 1949.
