Tomter, Charlotte Lorraine (Marriage – 12 Jan. 1952)

TOMTER – PETERSON

A double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Raymond P. Huss, united in marriage Charlotte Lorraine Tomter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Tomter, Black River Falls, and Eugene Merlin Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Peterson, also of Black River Falls. The service took place at the Evangelical Lutheran church in this city at 3:30 p.m. January 12, 1951.

The bride wore a rose pink suit with a white rose corsage and the bridegroom wore a gray pin-stripe suit with a carnation boutonniere. They were attended by the bride's sister, Miss Janet Tomter, who wore a Navy suit with a red rose corsage and the bridegroom's brother, Verland Peterson, who also wore a Navy blue suit and a carnation boutonniere.

Pictures were taken at the bride's home following the service. The brides' mother wore an orchid pin stripe dress and the bridegroom's mother a Navy blue dress. Both wore corsages of pink and white carnations.

A dinner was served to 36 guests at Adolph's Cafe. The beautiful 3-tier wedding cake had been made by the bride's aunt, Mrs. Adolph Larvick. Many nice and useful gifts were presented. The good wishes for happiness of a wide circle of friends is extended to the couple. They are making their home on the Merlin J. Peterson farm on Route 1.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jarle Engvold and family, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tomter, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Tomter, Mrs. Hilda Tomter and Richard, all of Osseo.

*** Note: Jackson County Marriage Record states that the marriage took place in 1952. This article says 1951.
