Hake, Helen L. (20 May 1891 – 16 August 1975)

A native of the Town of Levis, Mrs. Warren (Helen L.) Hake of Neillsville, died Satruday, August 16, at the age of 84. Funeral services were held Tuesday from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hake, the daughter of August and Augusta Timm Luck, was born May 20, 1891, in the Town of Levis and was educated locally, attending the German Lutheran School. Her marriage to Warren E. Hake took place November 19, 1913, in Neillsville. The Hakes, who observed their 60th wedding anniversary in 1973, farmed in the Town of Grant until 1944 when they moved to Neillsville. Mrs. Hake was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three children, Dale Hake and Mrs. albert (Thelma) Mashin, both of Neillsville, and Mrs. John (Viola) MacWilliams of Sembach, Germany; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held August 19 from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs. Warren (Helen L.) Hake, 84, of Neillsville, who died August 16. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated, and burial followed in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Gary Hake, John Hake, DeWayne Mashin, Terry Becker, Harry Wedekind and Raymond Wedekind.

Mrs. Kathy Quast sand “The Lord’s My Shepherd” and “Heaven is My Home”. Sharron Weber was the accompanist.

Those from out of town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Gus Rosenbaum of Stoughton, Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Entress of Whitewater, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mutter of Stone Lake, Mrs. Margaret Mass and Mrs. Ann Peck of Marshfield and Herold Ketelhud of Milwaukee.
