Hoover, Mary A. (Marriage – 9 August 1975)

Miss Mary A. Hoover became the bride of Brian C. Nugent on Satruday, August 9, in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony performed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, by the Rev. Joseph Henseler. The couple greeted guests afterwards at a reception in the church hall. A dance was held later at Bali Hai Supper Club.

Present in marriage by her father, the bride, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hoover, Rt. 2 Granton. The groom is the son of Mrs. Al Bolton, Neillsville, and Tim Nugent, Champaign, Il.

The bride wore a traditional floor-length gown of white chiffon trimmed with seed pearls and lace and highlighted with a soft shoulder ruffle and long sleeves of matching lace. Her fingertip veil cascaded from a matching lace and pearl half-cap with soft taffeta bows. Her round bouquet featured miniature white carnations and yellow daisies with baby’s breath.

Miss Vicki Tatarsky, Milwaukee, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Peggy Hagman, Eau Claire, and Miss Mary Reik, Greendale. Their square-neck, back-tied gowns of flocked crepe were fashioned in shades of yellow for the honor attendant and aquamarine for the bridesmaids. Matching bonnets and small white baskets of white and yellow daisies with baby’s breath completed their costumes.

The groom was attended by Scot Cole, Mondovi, as bestman and John Beattie, Hayward and Tracy Nugent, Champaign, Il., as groomsmen. Serving as ushers were James Wilcox and Michael Hoover.

Mrs. Glenn Short was the organist and Mrs. Eugene Ross, the soloist.

The newlyweds, who will live in Chippewa Falls, both graduated from Neillsville High School, she in 1972 and he in 1971. The new Mrs. Nugent graduated as well from District One Technical Institute and is employed as a medical laboratory technician. Her husband is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
