Richmond/Higby Families (9th Reunion – 27 July 1975)
The ninth annual Richmond-Higby family reunion was held at the Dairyland Fox
and Coon Hunters Clubhouse near Chrisie, July 27.
Virginia Richmond and Joyce Oldham were in charge of prizes given to the
following Viv Carteron, door prize; Fred and Myrtie Harp, living in same
place for the most years, 34; Viv and Mary Carteron, couple married the
longest time, 47 years; Bob and Wilma Richmond, couple married the shortest
time, 2 1/2 years; Louis and Dorothy Kretlow, persons driving the oldest
model car to the reunion, 1966 model; Kim Oldham, youngest child present, 1
1/2 years; Fern Ackerman, Ogden, Ut, coming the greatest distance; Laura
Richmond, most grandchildren, present, five; Bill Richmond, most children
present, 4; Eunice Froelich, having the strangest hobby, holding up traffic
(in her wheelchair).
Nancy Beyer was in charge of children’s games.
The 54 family members present were: William Richmond and Mrs. Joyce Oldham,
Barbie, Laurie, Allen and Kim, Neillsville; Mrs. Fern Ackerman, Ogden, Ut.,
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Richmond, Royalton, Mn.; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Richmond and
Jenny, Pierz, Mn.; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Richmond, Fennimore, Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Kretlow, Sussex; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gruetzmacher, Oak Forest, Il.; Mrs.
Eunice Froelich and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Beyer, Daryck and Bethany, Janesville;
Mrs. Evelyn Walthausen and Mrs. Barbara Hamm and Cindy, Barrington, Il.; Mr.
and Mrs. Jesse Richmond, Kathie, Karen, Carole and Marvin and Ollie, Scott,
Jeff and Bryan Coyle, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Cy Spangler, Denise and Donna,
Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Horn, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Viv Carteron; Mrs.
Laura Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Richmond, Wayne, Susan and Ellen and Mr.
and Mrs. Herb Horn, Luann and Allen, all of Greenwood.
The next reunion will be held July 25, 1976.
