Bernard J. "BJ" Tomczak, age 69, of Sheboygan, formerly of Thorp, passed away at his home on Friday, August 16, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Old St. Hedwig Catholic Cemetery in Thorp.

Bernard James “BJ” Tomczak 69, of Sheboygan, WI, formerly of Thorp, WI, passed away at his home on Friday, August 16, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Old St. Hedwig Catholic Cemetery in Thorp, with Rev. Baskaran Sandhiyagu officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Thorp American Legion Post #118.

Bernard James Tomczak was born on March 13, 1950 in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, WI, to Michael S. Tomczak, Sr. and Helen N. (Nedza) Tomczak. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Greenwood area, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1968. After completing high school, BJ worked as a farmhand until he enlisted into the U.S. Army on January 24, 1975. He served until his honorable discharge on May 28, 1976. BJ then moved to Sheboygan and worked at Plymouth Plastics, Inc. for more than 30 years.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed playing video games, watching TV, and yard work.

BJ is survived by 6 siblings: Gerald (Mary) of Withee, WI, Michael of Owen, WI, Allen (Joel) of Vine Grove, KY, Jeanne (James) Beck of New Holstein, WI, Donald of Medford, WI, Ron (Linda) of Spring Valley, WI; one brother-in-law: Dan Mohar of Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Mary Mohar; and 2 brothers: Clarence and Johnny in infancy.
