Kotecki, Aloysius J. (2 MAR 1936 – 28 AUG 2019)

Aloysius (Al) Joseph Kotecki, 82, passed away on August 28, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas after an extended illness. Al was born on March 2, 1936, in Thorp, Wisconsin to Anton and Constance (Arendt) Kotecki. Raised on the family dairy farm (a Wisconsin Century Farm), Al became quite proficient at repairing and maintaining all the family farm machinery. After graduating Thorp High School
(1953), Al entered the United States Marine Corps. During his enlistment he not only stood out by displaying a natural ease in the handling of firearms, but was then tasked to train his fellow Marines in the art of marksmanship.

Upon discharge, Al continued with his interest in all things mechanical, becoming a licensed professional in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry. One of Al's proudest accomplishments was founding and operating his own business, Air Systems Sheet Metal and Service in Missoula, Montana. Additionally, his love of large and specialized HVAC projects put him at Boeing Aircraft and Wholesome Bakeries,
among other notable companies. Al had a true gift for innovation and design, with accuracy and quality as his guiding values.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Cecilia; and brothers: Lawrence and Anthony. Survived by his brother, Leon; wife, Sherry; and the mother of his children, Judy. Al also considered his children: Ron, Rick, Randy, and Tammy, and their success in life, another great accomplishment. Al is survived by three grandchildren: Curtis, Dustin, and Dylan Kotecki.

Graveside Catholic services were held with burial in the Kotecki family plot at St. Hedwig Catholic Church cemetery in Thorp, Wisconsin. A Celebration of Life was held at a family reunion on the Kotecki farm on August 10, 2019.
