Voigt, Tamela (1 November 1980)

Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the Saturday afternoon, November 1, site for the sharing of wedding vows between Tamela Voigt and Timothy Shubert. The Rev. Paul Forde officiated with the father of the bride presenting her to her groom.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Alan Voigt, Neillsville, and Frank Shubert of Adamsville, Al., and Elizabeth Shubert of Melbourne, FL.

Serving as matron of honor was Melodie Foster, a friend of the bride from Eau Claire. She was joined by Susan Subke of La Crosse, Kim Mallegni of St. Paul, Mn., Tammy Ziegler of Madison and Carla Zilk of Neillsville. All are friends of the bride.

Tim Voigt, the bride’s brother from Neillsville, was bestman. He was joined by Brad Zimmerman of Neillsville, Gary Foster of Eau Claire, James Kuchenbecker of Madison and Steve Brorson of Neillsville. All are friends of the couple. Ushering were cousins of the ride Jean Voigt, Loyal, and JoAnn McNeely Sauk City.

Serving as ringbearer was Tammy Shubert, the groom’s son from Melbourne, Florida, while flowergirl was Lorie Moen, a cousin of the bride from Port Edwards.

Tim Voigt, accompanied by Mrs. Kendall Smith, offered, “Time In A Bottle” and “Love The World Away” as special musical selections.

The bride chose a gown of knit, featuring an empire-bodice with high collar and keyhole neckline. The gown was trimmed with Venician lace and had a skirt featuring a front pleated insert that ended in a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of silk flowers, adorned with baby’s breath and a cascade in autumn colors. Her attendants wore knot jacketed dresses in vibrant fall colors. They carried assorted silk flowers which matched their dresses.

The groom wore a white tuxedo in the Saratoga style. His attendants wore gray Ascot-style tuxedos.

After the services a reception was held at the Wildcat Inn, followed by a dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom. The couple announced that they would take a wedding trip at a later date. The couple will make their home in Neillsville. The new Mrs. Shubert is a 1978 graduate of Neillsville High School and is presently attending district I Technical Institute, Eau Claire, in the practical nursing program. Her husband is graduate of Melbourne (Florida) High School and is employed by Shaw’s Heating in Neillsville.
