Last Wednesday (June 18 1916) dawned bright and warm and proved to be an ideal day for the old settlers picnic, which was held at the M.W.A. Hall (Loyal, Clark Co., Wis.) that day. The attendance surpassed any other year. An immense crowd was present from all over the county, Neillsville, Granton, Christies, Veefkind, Spokeville, Beaver, Greenwood, Spencer and Colby were represented. After a fine dinner, such as only Clark Co. cooks can prepare, an interesting program was given consisting of the following:

- Selection – Orchestra
- Song, Auld Lang Syne – Audience
- Invocation – Rev. Powell
- Selection – Male Quartet
- Recitation – Miss Eula Irvine
- Piano Duet – Misses Emma and Florence Colby
- Vocal Solo – Mr. Marion Hunt
- Recitation – Miss Cecyl Blancher
- Vocal Duet – Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Taylor
- Piano Solo – Miss Bernice Draper
- Address – Hon. Merlin Hull of Black River Falls
- Song, Old Oaken Bucket – Audience
- Address – R.J. McBride
- Reading – Mrs. Wm. Mills
- Vocal Solo – Mrs. Blancher
- Remarks – Oliver Hills, Oklahoma
- Remarks – Mr. Varney
- Song, America – Audience

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hills of Oklahoma, and Mrs. and Mrs. S.D. Graves of California, among Loyal's Oldest settlers, were present from out of the state, as well as several of the oldest settlers from different parts of the county.

Reading and talks by the following settlers were omitted for lack of time: Mrs. Demuth, Mrs. Parker, Mr. J. Chesterman, Mr. Sitts, Mrs. Max Haslett, Mr. Picket, Mr. H. Draper, and Mr. Bowen.
