Meier, Debra Jean (Marriage – 14 June 1975)
Miss Debra Jean Meier became the bride of Michael Lee Schoengarth in a 2
p.m. ceremony performed Saturday, June 14, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church by
the Rev. Gerald Schuh. Afterwards, the couple greeted guests at a reception
at the American Legion Hall. An evening dance was held at the Silver Dome
Ballroom.
The bride, was presented in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Wayne Meier of Neillsville. Mr. and Mrs. Harris Schoengarth, Rt. 3
Neillsville, are the groom’s parents.
Lace, sequins and pearls accented the bride’s entrained gown of satin and
organza, framed by a long, lace-trimmed veil held by a lace and pearl cap.
She carried a cascade arrangement of red roses, baby’s breath and ivy.
Neckline ruffling was featured on the flocked, Nile green crepe gowns work
by the bridal attendants, whose flowers were nosegays of pink and while
daisies with baby’s breath. Miss Janice Miller was the maid of honor and
Miss Valerie Vincent, Miss Sharon Meier and Mrs. Mark Schoengarth, the
bridesmaids.
Susan Schoengarth was the flower girl and Gary Pettit, Des Moines, Ia., the
ringbearer.
Attending the groom were Mark Schoengarth as bestman and Randy Gault,
William Kurasz, Jr., and Alan Zschernitz as groomsmen. Tom Tock and Steven
Meier served as ushers.
Mrs. Glenn Short was the organist and Mrs. Eugene Ross, the soloist.
Selections included “Day by Day,” “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Wedding Song.”
The bride is a 1975 graduate of Neillsville High School and has been
employed at Memorial Hospital. Her husband, a 1971 graduate of Neillsville
High School and a 1972 graduate of the Eau Claire Technical Institute auto
mechanics course, is employed by a Neillsville-based transport cooperative.
The newlyweds will live in Neillsville.
