Beseler, Arnold O. (24 Aug 1903 - 31 Mar 1987)

Arnold O. Beseler, 83, of 613 S. Cherry Ave., died Tues. at the Hospice Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he had been a patient since March 20, 1987.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Sat. at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with the Rev. Carmen Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives following the services. There will be no visitation. Hansen Funeral Home, Marshfield, is handling arrangements.

He was born Aug. 24, 1903, in Marshfield, to Herman and Wilhelmina Beseler. He attended Marshfield schools and was a 1923 graduate of McKinley High School.

He married Helen Dorpat Nov. 12, 1923, in Marshfield. She survives. He worked as a salesman for Prudential Insurance Co. for 14 years, and in the layout department of Felker Brothers for nine years. He founded Beseler Steel Products in 1947, which he and his wife operated until 1960, when he retired and turned the operation over to his family. The couple celebrated their golden anniversary in 1973.

He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was instrumental in helping the Marshfield Chapter get started.

Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Lee (June) Weisenberger, and Mrs. William (Lois) Butler, both of Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Hermina Critchfield, of Winona, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three sons, Frank, Frederick and John, five sisters and a brother.
