Joe Czaikowski was born July 4, 1914, in Chicago, the son of Louis and Ursella (Sargeda) Czaikowski. He moved to Milladore with his family in 1921, where he attended Milladore grade school through the sixth grade and continued farming with his dad. In his younger years, Joe had many adventures riding his Indian motorcycle and piloting small planes.

He was united in marriage to Dolores M. Tasse on Oct. 29, 1951, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville. The Czaikowski's farmed in Milladore from 1951 until 1996. While farming, Joe also worked at Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids. He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799. Joe took great pride in raising their ten children and farming with his beloved wife "Dolly." In his free time, he became an accomplished bowler, enjoyed polka music, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also looked forward to attending church picnics throughout the area with his wife. In 1996, Joe and Dolores moved to Stevens Point.

He will be dearly remembered by his family and friends for his generous hospitality, constant correspondence through letters and cards and sharing stories of his life and Lithuanian heritage.

Joe is survived by his wife, Dolores, of 57 years; his children, Leonard (Nancy) Czaikowski of Milladore, Ed (Mary Beth) Czaikowski of Milladore, Mary (Ron) Haas of Wisconsin Rapids, Anne (Richard) Ambroziak of Wisconsin Rapids, Ralph Czaikowski of Auburndale, Ruth (Gary) Zurn of Morehead City, N.C., Mike Czaikowski of Plover, Peter (Loretta) Czaikowski of Stevens Point, and Paul (Denise) Czaikowski of Junction City. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Margaret Czaikowski, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Louis, Jack, Tony and Adam, a sister, Helen Kulhanek, a son Louie and a grandson, Chad. The family would like to thank the staff at Stevens Point Care Center and Ministry Home Care Hospice Services for their wonderful care.
