Laura R. Tremmell, 97, of Marshfield, died Sat. March 21 at the Marshfield Care Center.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Fri., March 27, at St. John's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thur. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) and 9:30 a.m. until service time Fri. at the church.

There will be a combined Parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women Society Rosary service at 4 p.m. Thur. at the funeral home.

Laura R. Tremmel, 97, of Marshfield died Sat.morning, March 21, 2009, at the Marshfield Care Center under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Fri., March 27, 2009, at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel. Suzanne Golden along with St. John's Funeral Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with Dale Tremmel, Luis Ruiz, Mark LeGrand, Mark Meyer, Scott Netzer and Thomas Krier serving as the pallbearers.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thur. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) and again Fri. from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services at St. John's Catholic Church. There will be a combined rosary service by the Parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women Society at 4 p.m. Thur. at the funeral home.

Laura was born in town of Spencer on Oct. 6, 1911, to Alex and Frances (Boehm) Krohn.

She was united in marriage to Melvin L. Tremmel on Nov. 7, 1933, at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Melvin died Sept. 8, 1998.

Prior to her marriage, she worked at Normington Laundry and then at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield after her marriage until she retired. They lived in the village of Spencer and they were a member of Christ The King Catholic Church for many years. Laura had been a resident of the Marshfield Care Center for the past 11 years.

She is survived by her son DuWayne (Shirley) Tremmel of Marshfield; six grandchildren, Maryellen (Luis) Ruiz of Pewaukee; Mark (Sarah) Tremmel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Myra (Mark) LeGrand of Geneva, Ill.; Meg (Mark) Meyer of La Crosse; Melissa (Scott) Netzer of Fond du Lac and Michelle (Tom) Krier of Allenton; 15 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother Alex "Sonny" Krohn of Mesa, Ariz.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son in infancy, one brother and four sisters.

Memorials may be given in Laura's name to either the Hannah Center or Masses of remembrance.

We the family are grateful for all the love and good care given to Laura at the Wildwood Court at the Marshfield Center.
