Ehlert, Jean (11 Dec. 1924 - 7 Jan. 1992)

VESPER - Services for Jean Ehlert, 67, Vesper, who died at 3:05 p.m. Tues. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, were today at St. James Catholic Church, Vesper.

The Rev. Chester J. Osowski will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Cemetery, Mankato, Minn.

Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, handled arrangements.

She was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Mankato, to the late Joseph and Cora Kelly. She was married to Orville Gillund and Dave La Prairie. They both died, and she was married to Donald R. Ehlert May 13, 1967, in Wisconsin Rapids. He died Sept. 19.

She was employed by Western Union for 23 years in Mankato. She moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1964 and was employed by Wood County Telephone Co. for 21 years until retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 954 and Loyal Order of Cooties in Mankato. She was also a member of St. James Parish Council of Catholic Women, the National Rural Letters Auxiliary and two women’s bowling leagues and was a retired member of the Independent Telephone Pioneer Association.

Survivors include two sisters, Pearl Stadheim of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Erma Anderson of Mankato, and one brother, Ray Kelly of Onalaska.

She was also predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
