Dix, Kenneth A. (17 Dec. 1911 - 14 Nov. 1998)

PORT EDWARDS - Kenneth A. Dix, 86, of Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, died Nov. 14, 1998, at the nursing home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wed. at First Congregational-United Church of Christ in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Jake Close will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4-8 p.m. Tues. and at the church on Wed. from 10 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Dix was born Dec. 17, 1911, in Marshfield, to William and Ida (nee Gerwing) Dix. He married Lucielle H. Altenburg on Nov. 9, 1935, in Neillsville. They lived in Marshfield and Hewitt before moving to Wisconsin Rapids in June of 1946.

Mr. Dix was employed by the Wood County Highway Department for 46 years until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Elks Club, and was a past president of the Lowell Senior Citizens.

He is survived by three sons, Dean (Micki) Dix of Menomonee Falls, Dale (Elaine) Dix and Lynbn (Sharon) Dix, all of Wisconsin Rapids; a daughter, Darlene Lohman of Wisconsin Rapids; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen (Robert) Melville of Carmen, Ind.; and two brothers, Earl (Vivian) Dix of Wausau and Doug (Dorothy) Dix of Wisconsin Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucielle H. Dix, on April 28, 1997; two sons, Ken and Warren; a daughter, Carol, a daughter-in-law, Donna; a granddaughter, Barbara; his parents; and by one brother, Lee.
