Liazuk, Rose M. (Glebke) (April 3, 1918 - April 6, 2011)
Rose M. Liazuk, 93, of Gilman, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Gilman Care Center, under the care of Hope Hospice.
She was born on April 3, 1918 in Biron, Wis., the daughter of the late Martin and Holdina (Knoll) Glebke.
Her family moved to the area soon thereafter and Rose attended area schools, graduating from Gilman High. On September 30, 1939, she married Stanley Liazuk in Gilman.
Rose was a sports fan, made many beautiful afghans, loved bowling (well into her 80s) and fishing, and was an avid gardener. She also babysat many local children over the years and was a very active member at Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, Ellen Liazuk of Crestwood, Ill., Diana (Jon) Hillstead of Wisconsin Rapids, Carolyn (Allen) Siok of Gilman, Jayne Kaczmarcik of Marshfield and Bruce (Nancy) Liazuk of Medford; two daughters-in-law, Juanita Liazuk of Brookside, Fla., and Rita Liazuk of Gilman; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband in 1987; her parents; her sons, Robert, Gary "Butch" and infant Ronald; a grandson, Brian; her brothers, Carl and Earl Glebke; her sister, Helen Hall; and a daughter-in-law, Penny.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 9 at Zion Lutheran Church in Gilman, with Rev. Gary Paul officiating. Burial was at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
Gilman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
