Christophersen, Phyllis Jacqueline (Werner) (June 24, 1936 - December 31, 2008)

Phyllis Jacqueline Christoffersen, 72, Mulberry, Fla., died December 31, 2008, after a courageous 17 year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Phyllis was born on June 24, 1936 to Eric and Hertha Werner of Medford. In 2002 she moved to Mulberry from Grayslake, Ill., where she and her husband had raised their family.

Phyllis, a devoted wife and mother, was a long time member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Grayslake, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She became a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lakeland after moving to Florida. She loved her family very much and was blessed to have spent Thanksgiving with her husband, all her children and grandchildren.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Hertha Werner.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert H. Christoffersen; a daughter, Theresa (Gary) Dunkin of Mundelein, Ill.; three sons, Steven (Alice) Christoffersen of San Antonio, Texas, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Christoffersen of Lakeland and Bryan (Amy) Christoffersen of Apple Valley, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Kyle Dunkin, Jennifer Dunkin, Emily Dunkin, Michael Christoffersen, Anna Christoffersen, Arthur Christoffersen, Nicholas Christoffersen, Zachary Christoffersen and Tyler Freund; a sister, Ardis (Corlas) Meier of Medford; a brother, Eric (Penny) Werner of Portland, Ore.; and many beloved family and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 3 at Grace Lutheran Church.
