Pastor Dorpat served Whittlesey Lutheran from 1883 though 1888.

During Pastor Dorpat’s pastorate, the voters of the congregation resolved to purchase two acres of land for $11.00 in the Southeastern corner of the Anton Mayer farm as a church site.

The congregation built a log church on this property in the spring of 1886.
