Sorensen, Jack E. (May 23, 1934- January 31, 2009)

Jack E. Sorensen, 74, Minocqua, died Saturday, Jan. 31 at his home. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minocqua.

Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from noon until the time of the service.

Jack Sorensen was born May 23, 1934 in Stevens Point to the late Knute and Grace (Hess) Sorensen.

On May 3, 1970 he married Janet Neuendorf, who survives.

They moved to Minocqua in 1974. He worked in advertising sales at Madison Newspaper and the Lakeland Times in Minocqua where he was the sales manager.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Lions Club where he was actively involved in the Lions Eye Bank, and was a Lakeland Ambassador. He enjoyed bass fishing, as well as teaching people how to bass fish.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Knute "Rick" (Becky) of Oregon; a sister, Gerry Olson; and two grandchildren, Dane and Brooke.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Bolger Funeral and Cremation Services of Minocqua and Woodruff assisted the family with arrangements.
