Frischmann, Melvin O. (28 Jan. 1924 - 8 Feb. 2009)

MEDFORD -- Melvin "Mel" O. Frischmann, 85, of Medford, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Memorial Health Center in Medford.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Medford. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, where full military honors will be performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team.

Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and also from 9 a.m. until time of service on Friday.

Melvin was born Jan. 28, 1924, in the town of Medford to Fred Sr. and Magdelena (Hurtienne) Frischmann. He was married Nov. 19, 1947, to Irene M. Haemel. She preceded him in death Jan. 18, 2007.

He joined the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, being stationed in Alaska working as a telephone line repairman. After his time in the service he worked at the Farmers Union Coop as a master plumber until 1982. He then owned and operated Frischmann Plumbing until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, James (Sharon) Frischmann of Medford, Thomas (special friend Jerri Wojner) Frischmann of Medford, Gary (Esther) Frischmann of Medford and Randy Frischmann of Stetsonville; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Hemer Funeral Home of Medford is assisting the family with arrangements.
