Reuter, Gregory J., Monsignor (April 11, 1881 - May 2, 1962)

Father Reuter was born on April 11, 1881 in Obereschenbach, Hammelburg in Bavaria and was ordained on July 25, 1906.

In May of 1916, Father Gregory J. Reuter became pastor of Medford and was assistant pastor at Phillips with many Missions: Rice Lake, Cumberland, Glidden, Butternut, Mellen and Rib Lake.

The parochial school had an enrollment of 297 children and the faculty consisted of eleven School Sisters of St. Francis of Milwaukee.

Father Sirek is assistant pastor.

The parish had close to 500 families, most of them German descendant.

Monsignor Reuter remained as Pastor of Holy Rosary Parish until May 2, 1962, when he died at Holy Cross Hospital.
