Vircks, Donald Frederick (May 26, 1929 - June 26, 2008)

LANDER -- A memorial service for Donald F. Vircks, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, in the Hudson’s Funeral Home, Chapel of Mount Hope conducted by Pastor Tim Sersen of the Faith Lutheran Church.

He was born May 26, 1929, to Herman and Ida (Amacher) Vircks. His stepmother Ella helped to raise him.

In 1954, he married Mary Obscherning. They divorced in 1970.

They bought the family farm and worked it for 10 years. They moved to Riverton in 1964 to fly airplanes. He started Lander Airways in 1965, in Lander, and worked there for six and one half years.

After Lander Airways he opened Vircks Photography then worked at various jobs, later driving truck for a family friend in Wisconsin. His last employment was with Hudson’s Funeral Home working as a driver.

Survivors include two children from his first marriage, Gwen of Riverton, and Kurt and his wife of Casper; two grandchildren; sister, Delores Lips of Faribault, Minn.; also many cousins, second cousins, nieces, nephews, and stepchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; stepmother; ex-wife, Norma Martin; several aunts and uncles; a nephew; several cousins; and a stepson.
