Silbernagel, Benjamin (25 Mar. 1909 – 26 Nov. 1987)

MEDFORD – Benjamin Silbernagel, 78, died Nov. 26 at Carlsbad, Calif. Death was due to natural causes.

The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held in Medford at a later date.

He was born March 25, 1909, in Medford, to John and Elizabeth Silbernagel. He lived there with his parents and later moved to Anchorage, Alaska.

He was a conductor on the railroad in Alaska. After retiring, he moved to Carlsbad. He never married.

Survivors include one brother William, Rib Lake; and three sisters, Mrs. Franklin (Clara) Heim, of Spring Arbor, Mich., and Ruth Gowey and Elsa Goldbach, both of Marshfield.

He is predeceased by his parents and one sister.
