Pierce, Emma M. (21 Jan. 1923 - 24 Apr. 2009)

MEDFORD -- Emma M. Pierce, 86, a former longtime Stetsonville resident, died Friday, April 24, 2009, at Memorial Nursing & Rehab Center, Medford.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Plover Cemetery, Plover. Emma was born Jan. 21, 1923, at Merrill, to James Sr. and Margaret (Hipp) Becker. She was united in marriage in 1951 to Lawrence "Peanie" Pierce. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1969.

She spent nearly 20 years being a full-time care provider for homebound elders for the Taylor County Nursing Service.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan P. (Rick) Scholl of Paso Robles, Calif.; a son, Mark "Peanie" (Dot) Pierce of Stetsonville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Tony) Zak of Stetsonville; and three brothers, George (Nancy) Becker of Medford, James Jr. (Brenda) Becker of Tomahawk, and Carl (Leona) Becker of Tomahawk.
