Zielke, Marge E. (June 14, 1928 - September 17, 2009)  

 

Marge E. Zielke, 81, Medford, died Thursday, Sept. 17 at Memorial Health Center in Medford, under hospice care.  

 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rib Lake, with Rev. James Heffner officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in the Town of Spirit. 

 

The former Marge Walbeck was born June 14, 1928 in Rib Lake to the late Adolph and Adeline (Kaske) Walbeck.  

 

She attended Ward Graded School and was a 1946 graduate of Rib Lake High School.  

 

She moved to Milwaukee, graduated from cosmetology school and was employed at various beauty shops in the Milwaukee area, and was manager of one of the House of Fashion beauty shops. 

 

In September 1950 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, she married Howard Barkdoll, and they were later divorced.  

 

She moved back to the Rib Lake area in 1973. On March 16, 1974 at Zion Lutheran Church in the Town of Spirit, she married Robert Zielke, who preceded her in death on January 11, 1997. She lived in Rib Lake and ran the beauty shop at the Golden LivingCenter from 1974 to 2008. 

 

She was a member of Spirit Homemakers and a Reading Grandma in Medford. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, exercising at Curves, traveling, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. 

 

Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Peter) Schon of Whitefish Bay and Pat Barkdoll of Milwaukee; a brother, Marlin (Donna) Walbeck of Rib Lake; three grandchildren, Brian Williams, Megan (Steve) Hutto and Lisa Schon; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. 

 

Memorial contributions in her honor may be given to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.  

 

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
