Carey, Bonelyn Mae (1947)

Neilsen-Carey

Miss Bonelyn Mae Carey, daughter of Mrs. Augusta Carey, Spencer, became the bride of Norman Walter Neilsen, Spencer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Neilsen, Loretta, in a wedding ceremony read May 9 at 2 P. M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. A. C. Stapel officiated at the nuptial service read before the flower bedecked altar. Norbert Book was organist and Carol Fravert soloist.

The bride approached the altar wearing a Chantilly lace gown, styled with full sleeves, a shirred bodice and long entrained skirt. Her finger tip veil of illusion was caught with clusters of lilies of the valley to a sweetheart cap and she carried lilies.

Miss Audrey Arlene Carey, in yellow embroidered marquisette, was maid of honor for her sister. Miss Joyce Herdrich, Loyal, wearing a similar frock in green embroidered marquisette, served as bridesmaid. Both wore wrist corsages of carnations. The bride’s brother, Eugene Carey, was best man, and Orville Phillips was groomsman.

Following the service, dinner was served at the Carey home to the guests. The ceiling was canopied with yellow, green and white streamers and a three tier wedding cake topped with a minature [sic] bride and groom ornament centered the table. A reception followed at the Little Club.

Mrs. Carey attended her daughters [sic] wedding in a black dress and white accessories while Mrs. Neilsen wore a melon colored dress with black accessories. Carnations were pinned to their shoulders.

Mr. Neilsen attended Draper High School from which he was graduated in 1941, and served in the C. B. 1 theatre of war for three years. Now he is engaged in farming at Spencer.

Mrs. Nelsen has been employed at St. Mary’s Hospital at Barboo. She attended Spencer High School.

Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Neilsen, Pine River; Mr. and Mrs. William Qwinn, Butternut; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Ulshafer, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Neilsen, Loretta; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hanson, Saxville; Mrs. Gust Voss and her daughter, Wausau.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
