Ziebarth, Charles (21 May 1869 - 11 DEC 1963)

Charles Ziebarth, 94, a resident of Abbotsford since 1920, died of complications at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 11, 1963. He was taken there by ambulance earlier that day.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Christ Lutheran Church, where the body was taken at noon from the Polnaszek Funeral Home. The Rev. F.H. Sprengler conducted the 2 o'clock services, during which Miss Dorothy Kieser and Mrs. Charles Plautz sang "Heaven is My Home" and "Asleep in Jesus." Mr. Ziebarth was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

The pallbearers for the interment, which was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery, were Leo Baumann, Ole Hanson, Louis Mauritz, Clarence Mueller, A.J. Schmirler and Einar Olson.

Charles Ziebarth was born in New York May 21, 1869. He and Amelia Prahl were united in marriage Aug. 12, 1890 at Dalton, Ill. They were the parents of four sons and one daughter.

In his early years he was employed as a helper in the furnace and steel mill at Pullman, Ill., About 1905 the family came to Wisconsin, and since 1920 lived in the Abbotsford area.

Mr. and Mrs. Ziebarth had the distinction of being married 66 years before her death on Jan. 2, 1957.

He is survived by two sons, Arnold of Cornell and Henry of King. There are six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Arnold and Henry Ziebarth were here for the funeral of their father, as well as grandsons Walter Ziebarth of Chippewa Falls, David Ziebarth of St. Paul and Bill Ziebarth of Chicago.
