Wilcox, Silas (1813 - 12 DEC 1893)


Silas A. Wilcox died at his residence in this city (Neillsville, Clark County) on Dec. 12th, 1893, at the age of 70 years.

Mr. Wilcox was born in New York state. He entered the military service during the rebellion as second Lieutenant of Company "G", 10th Wis. Infantry on Sept. 7th, 1861, and was discharged from service for physical disability, Dec. 1, 1862, he being the original Second Lieutenant of the 10th Wisconsin.

He was a former resident of Black river Falls, and has lived in this city for a number of years.

Funeral services will be held at the residence of Friday morning, and the remains will be taken to Black River Falls for interment.
