Mulvey, Dr. John  S. (25 DEC 1858 - 14 NOV 1894)

The body of Dr. J.S. Mulvey arrived Thursday. He died of consumption at Fresno, Cal., Wednesday, Nov. 14th, 1894. Henry Mulvey had started for California to bring his brother home, having heard that he was failing fast, but death came sooner than expected, and he had gotten only as far as St. Cloud when he received the sad news and returned. The funeral will be held Saturday and a full obituary cannot be given until next week. (Loyal Tribune)

The remains were brought to this city (Neillsville, Clark County) Saturday for burial and interred in the Catholic Cemetery.

Dr. Mulvey was, for a long time, a resident of this city and had a large practice in this community.

Mulvery, Dr. John S. (25 December 1858-14 November 1894)

Dr. J. S. Mulvey, a well known physician of Loyal, died of consumption at Fresno, California on Thursday of last week. Dr. Mulvey has been a resident of Clark County since 1891, when he commenced his profession at Loyal. In 1885 he moved to Neillsville, but removed to Loyal in 1892. Last spring he was taken sick with pneumonia and exposed himself too soon. Consumption threatened him and in July he left for Southern California for his health. Words of encouragement as to his condition came in every letter, but his relatives mistrusted that all was not well with him and on Wednesday of last week his brother, H. S. Mulvey left for California to bring him home. He had started on his way, expecting to take the trip leisurely, but the day following a telegram came announcing the doctor's death. A.A. Graves, brother-in-law of the deceased came to Marshfield and, after much difficulty, succeeded in getting a telegram to H. S. Mulvey at St. Paul, Minnesota, and he continued his journey with all speed. Dr. Mulvey was 35 years of age, and popular with all who enjoyed his acquaintance.
