Horvat, Mary Irene (25 June 1911 - 18 June 1993)


Mary Irene Horvat, 81, formerly of Willard, Clark County, died Tuesday, June 15, 1993, at Neillsville Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 1993, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Father Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial was in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Tolaney, Robert Krainz, William Kristapovich, Scott Horvat, Steve Horvat, and Dan Horvat.


Mary Dobish was born June 25, 1911, in Chicago, to Joseph and Katherine Dobish. She received her education at Rocky Run School in the Town of Mead. She worked as a maid in Chicago. She married John Horvat on Dec. 30, 1936, in Chicago. After their marriage they moved to Willard and farmed until 1960. After her husband's death on April 15, 1967, Mary stayed on the farm until 1972, and then moved to Greenwood. She lived in Greenwood until 1988, when she entered Neillsville Memorial Nursing Home. She was a member of Holy Family Society Lodge 136, K.S.K.J., and St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood.


Survivors include one daughter, Mary Jane (Paul) Kristapovich, Lake Mills three sons, John (Mary) Horvat, West Allis William Horvat, Mission, Texas and Charles Horvat, West Allis eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband her parents and one brother, Frank Dobish.


Rinka Funeral home handled the arrangements.
