Makovec, Eugene P. (23 MAR 1950 - 7 APR 2002)


FOND DU LAC - Eugene P. Makovec, age 52, died April 7, 2002, at Manor Care Health Services in Fond du Lac. He had resided with his mother and a special aunt, Leona Carlson, of 7447 Lamartine Dr., Fond du Lac.

Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church at noon on April 10, 2002, with the Rev. Fred Toppe officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

There will be a second funeral service at 1 p.m. April 11, 2002, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Greenwood with the Rev. Terri Blomberg officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.

Twohig Funeral Home of Fond du Lac is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Eugene was born March 23, 1950, in Ashland to John F. and Esther (nee Oelke) Makovec. He was a member at Redeemer Lutheran Church. He had been employed at Marshfield Development Center, Adult Development Services of Greenwood and Brooke Industry of Fond du Lac. Eugene was active in Special Olympics where he was a medalist. He was an avid bowler. He especially enjoyed holidays and celebrating his birthday. He was a special person who brought joy to the life of everyone he touched.


Eugene is survived by his mother, Esther Makovec of Fond du Lac two brothers, William (Jodie) Makovec of Superior and John Makovec of California one sister, Nicole Makovec of Denver, Colo. He was a special uncle to his nephews, Erik (Susan) Zingler and Brett (La l) Zingler and great-niece Zoe Elizabeth Zingler. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.
